Create a nostalgic Victorian ambience in any room with this captivating vintage doily pattern. Doilies created using this pattern are perfect to place under a flower vase, small plant or knick-knack to protect the precious wood of your table, counter or buffet. They will soon become treasured parts of your home décor that can be passed down from generation to generation.
This pattern is a rework of the crochet pattern for the doily illustrated in Figure 13 in the Priscilla Crochet Book – Centrepieces and Doilies from 1915, edited by Belle Robinson, which is a public domain work. I have translated this pattern into American crochet terminology (the original used UK terminology), and I rewrote it during the process of thorough testing, using modern crochet instructions and pattern formatting, as well as correcting errors and omissions, providing clarifications and making adjustments as necessary. All of this in order to make the pattern easier for modern crocheters to understand, so that they may create this exquisite vintage edging themselves and help ensure that this pattern lives on.
