Bring a touch of Victorian refinement to many different projects, including tablecloths, cloth napkins, pillow cases, nightgowns, blouses, shelf edges, table runners and more, using this vintage edging pattern to handcraft exquisite embellishments..
This pattern is a variation of VCE pattern, 1915 Cluny Edging No. 15A, which itself is a variation of the reworked crochet pattern for the lace edging illustrated in Figure 15 in How to Crochet Cluny Laces, by Marie Antionette from 1915, which is a public domain work. I have rewritten this pattern during the process of thorough testing, using modern crochet instructions and pattern formatting, as well as correcting errors and omissions, providing clarifications and making adjustments as necessary. All of this in order to make the pattern easier for modern crocheters to understand, so that they may create this exquisite vintage edging themselves and help ensure that this pattern lives on.
